DOD Environmental Security Technology Certification Program awarded our group a $925,000 competitive award over three years (2022 – 2025). Our interdisciplinary research team will study how to advance energy resilience at West Point using a technology called anaerobic co-digestion, which will convert organic waste (food, fats, oils, and grease, and wastewater sludge) generated at West Point’s Target Hill Wastewater Treatment Plant into methane-rich biogas and then energy. https://www.army.mil/article/258788/dod_awards_west_point_925k_to_pilot_advanced_energy_security_resilience_system
